*Video entry*
*Heyna is slumped in a chair in her quarters, wearing a dirty dark grey shipsuit that she has opened and pushed down to her waist, revealing a sweat-stained green vest top. Her eyes are reddened.*
I'm a fool. A stupid fool.
I went exploring into Domain to find some Sansha scum. Discovered a wormhole in Ealur, and went through to have a look round. Wherever it took me, it wasn't the same as my last trip through a wormhole. This place didn't make my ship seem faster, and the mysterious small drones I found last time weren't there. This time, there were heavy stationary sentries and battleship-sized drones. I got distracted, and before I could get to a safe distance, my Hawk came to pieces around me.
*She wipes her eyes.*
I'd worked with that crew for months - they were hardworking, loyal... I knew I could count on them. And now? Gone. Their remains floating in some unknown system...
I barely managed to escape myself. I'd set a course back through the wormhole and back here, just in case - good thing, too. I'd never have got out of there otherwise, not without probes to find my way home.
You live and learn, I suppose. Just because it was easy enough to stay alive last time, doesn't mean it will be again. Wish my crew hadn't had to suffer for that lesson. And now I'll have to hire a new crew, who I won't know, who I won't trust...
*She slumps down into the chair, sighs, and picks up her datapad from a table next to her. The recording ends.*

First Blood
*text only entry*
Been out hunting with Kimochi, Yishal, and Milo. We caught a battlecruiser some way out, alone, and managed to lock it down and finish it off. Oddly, the pilot didn't respond once; didn't open fire, didn't try to escape - hell, he didn't even respond when we destroyed his ship and his pod with it. I'm concerned that something deeper is going on here, and I feel sorry for any crew on that ship. One big flaw of these pods we use, from a crew's perspective, I suppose - if we're not fighting, there's nothing they can do to save themselves.
Might have to head back out there and take a look around, see if my probes can come up with any reason why he didn't respond. Reminds me of those seemingly inactive drones I encountered through wormholes. "Sleepers", I think, is the term that's come into use for them...
Oh well. Got my first joint kill with the Ghosts, and first decent combat for my Hawk, too. Don't think there was much left of the ship when we were done blasting it!

My head...
*text entry*
My head, this morning...
Met up with Milo, outside the 'Hook, and gave him the news. We celebrated with a bottle of wine. And another bottle, and another. I lost count somewhere after the third.
I hope I didn't make too much of a fool of myself. All I can remember is walking into a chair and tripping over it.

A new home...

Who'd have thought, after all this time, that I'd be working with Milo again? When I ran into him in the 'Hook those months ago - at the time, just another station bar to me - I was angry enough to nearly try to kill him, and now?
Got the news last night. I'm now officially working for the Ghosts! I think I'll comm Milo shortly and give him the good news. A celebration is in order, I think!
